Frequently Asked Questions

What if I don’t write fantasy or sci-fi?

That’s ok! The Planser Workbook is for all fiction writers, no matter your WIP’s genre or target audience. Why? Because well-loved stories follow a similar storytelling structure. Think of it this way, mentors, for example, can be wizards, jedi masters, or even the person who gives your MC their first job.

What if I don’t like to draw?

You don’t have to. Some artistically inclined authors might choose to doodle in the blank boxes or bullet-journal spaces, but you can cut and paste images there or simply fill them with more words. The key is to make this your own!

Isn’t this just plotting?

Well, kind of. But not exactly. It’s intended to be somewhere in between plotting and pantsing. It’s recommended to use a pencil for the Plansing sections that are more plot-oriented. That way, you can shuffle things around as needed as you go.

What if I don’t understand how to fill it out?

I got you! Subscribe to the Planser Newsletter to gain a free Planser Manual. This manual provides suggested directions for each section with a particular emphasis on the plot and character development pages.
